David's twin daughter Betty provided the inspiration for the title of his first book Stupid Carrots. When she was about three-and-a-half, she would mumble her own made up term 'stupid carrots', as if it were a childlike swear word. Betty Bunny REALLY doesn't want carrots for dinner. And she'll say and do ANYTHING to get rid of carrots forever! Betty goes through many stages of being HANGRY in this hilarious book with incredible illustrations by Daron Parton. |
David Campbell's second book, Bedtime is Boring, was inspired by his son Billy, twin to Betty, who puts up a fight for bedtime most nights. This story cleverly captures the dual perspective of tired parent and cheeky child.
Billy Bunny REALLY doesn't want to go to bed. He's NOT tired! Not even a little bit. It may be bedtime, but Billy is NOT going quietly... Will Billy win the bedtime battle in this sequel to Stupid Carrots, once again, illustrated by Daron Parton. |
